PIT Activities

The Principal Investments and Trading Division (PIT) manages the firm’s proprietary activities. They are divided into two areas:

1. Proprietary Trading: The firm’s trading is primarily arbitrage and hedge oriented. The PIT division is not allowed to trade with or against the Institutional Sales and Trading Division or the Capital Markets Division. To further separate this area, its accounts are carried at separate clearing firms.
2. Investments. From time to time, the firm makes investments in other entities, which may be publicly or privately owned.
